Dear Compass Flight Attendants,

On behalf of the Flight Attendants at Mesaba Airlines, I'd like to offer our support during your campaign to join the Association of Flight Attendants.  As part of the Delta Connection family, we look forward to welcoming you into the AFA family.
Gaining representation at Compass is the first step in having a say in the future of your career.  Once  a contract has been negotiated at Compass, you will have the security of knowing that your collective voice will always be heard by management.

You will be joining forces with 55,000 members of AFA International and over 700,000 members of CWA.  When we speak to Congress, the FAA, the NTSB and other government agencies with influence over our jobs, our credibility is undeniable.

Union representation gives you the opportunity to build a new relationship with management, one built on the respect that naturally arises when flight attendants hold collective bargaining rights with management under the Railway Labor Act.

With respect and admiration,
Kathleen Donn
MEC President

Dear Compass Flight Attendants~

My name is Shriver Lenox and I will be assisting you with your campaign to join the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA. I am a Chicago based flight attendant for United Airlines, as well as one of the staff organizers for AFA. I come to you from having just completed two back to back organizing campaigns with the Flight Attendants of Ryan International and Lynx Aviation. I am happy to report that both campaigns concluded with the flight attendants successfully voting to join our union, The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA.

I am now focused on assisting each of you and the rest of the wonderful flight attendants at Compass Airlines realize that same dream.

First off, I want to let you know your campaign is shaping up really well and with continued hard work, we can anticipate an NMB filing on your behalf during the Summer of 2009.

Yet, to meet that goal, we are going to need as many of you as possible to pitch in, get involved and do the hard work to make this effort successful and that Summer filing obtainable.

Along the way, I want each of you to keep in mind that all campaigns are truly different. That said, the one thing that remains constant, is the way airline management retaliates to thwart our organizing efforts. Flight Attendants around the world who collectively manage that aspect of their campaign are the ones who end up successful when the last vote is tallied. It can be done~as long as we prepare properly and work as one strong and cohesive team.

Please know that I am here to help you navigate your way.... but this effort belongs firmly to each of you.

You have a chance to make history not only for yourselves but for all who will wear the Compass Flight Attendant uniform & wings in the years that follow.

~With pride in our profession~

Dear Compass Flying Partners,

On behalf of the Northwest Airlines flight attendants, I would like to extend our full support in your campaign to join the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA.  We look forward to the day Compass flight attendants join us as members of AFA.

You have an important opportunity before you - to create your own autonomy and gain a voice at the bargaining table.  AFA membership and the Collective Bargaining Agreement that would follow, will enhance your career at compass through improvements in pay, benefits, working conditions, and work rules.

Our industry has never faced as many challenges as it has in the past several years.  There has been much uncertainty in our profession with bankruptcies, buyouts, and mergers, and that is likely to continue.

I encourage you to fill out a membership card and in the election, to cast your vote for AFA.  We look forward to 'Welcoming You Home' to AFA in 2009.

In unity,

Janette Rook

Northwest Flight Attendant & MEC President

Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO

"Congratulations Compass FAs!  There are thousands of us at NWA who look forward to welcoming you to AFA and to the Northwest family.  We hope you elect AFA as your union -- so we can work together on the advancement of our chosen profession.

Everything about our flight attendant career has improved with the security of a union contract -- especially pay guarantees, work rules and having a voice in the various committees that AFA offers (Scheduling, Reserve, Government Affairs, Safety/Health and Security, Employee Assistance and many more). Don't forget to cast your YES vote --- we'll be cheering for you to win."
