These websites identify a range of resources that can by sorted by state of residence and by assistance category. This website provides a state by state database of health insurance alternatives and low cost health care resources for the unemployed, underemployed and self- employed. At this site you will find:
- Income based health insurance plans
- Free and low-cost health services
- Income-based care at hospitals and clinics
- Financial assistance for Medical Bills and Prescriptions
This website allows you to conduct a search of local human service programs. You can also telephone 2-1-1 from your local area and talk to a resource specialist if you prefer. The service is free, easy to remember and takes the confusion out of where to call for assistance. Not all states however have this service up and running yet.
200 health-care facilities provide free/reduced-cost care under the Hill-Burton Act. This website provides a list of Hill-Burton facilities, eligibility guidelines, and application information.
InsureKidsNow.gov provides information regarding Medicaid and children health insurance services for families who cannot pay for coverage from the private market.
